NOTD: Cheap but not chearful

Here I'm wearing a black polish by Wet N' Wild for 99c with frenzy by Sinful Colours. I like using glitter top coats as they finish any look. I think they are best worn for the night time and celebrations however they can make a nice change from wearing a matte colour. I'm being brave and jumping straight into a winter shade however white and black can be worn all year round. This summer I have been loving my orange nail polish by Rimmel London as it compliments a tan perfectly. Also today I received my first pedicure with white nail polish which was super relaxing! Monochrome is definitely here to stay .

GCSE Results Day

On Thursday I finally got my results that I'd been working hard for. As I'm still in Florida I got them collected for me and I got to see a clip of my friend receiving hers at school. I got 4A's 6B's and 2C's, I'm happy with these results with the exception of my two B's in English as that was unexpected. However I have secured my place at sixth form where I will be studying Geography, English Literature, Biology, and Photography.

It's definitely different receiving your results separately from others as you don't get to experience the atmosphere and to share your happiness with your friends who you've been working along side with. However I was able to recieve my results in the quite of my own home and wind down. I didn't celebrate much but as you can see I was taken out for a meal at a European restaurant which sure was good.

I have also been doing lots of Back To School shopping so I have bought myself a wardrobes worth of clothes! I'm starting to get excited to return home on the 29th and as soon as I'm back in England I'll be looking to get a part time job. If you received your results I hope you got what you wished for and if not don't stress about it too much as you will still have options.

Hope you're all well

River City and Jags game

Hey beautiful people, here's another update of my time in America. This pictures are actually from a couple of weeks ago but basically I got the opportunity to see the first Jacksonville Jaguars game of the season. We didn't win and the play wasn't great, I found it hard to keep up sometimes as I'm not accustomed to American football. The first set of pictures are from Jacksonville Landing which is the skyline of Jacksonville and is quite nice to relax by.

Last week I was helping out at a Middle School and will continue to do so this week, however my GCSE results on Thursday are the big deal of the week. I hope everyone gets the results they're looking for, and don't be nervous! Also I'm a real lucky girl as I found some brilliant finds at Goodwill the other day and my neighbour came around with bags of clothes for me to choose from, I'm so set for Back to School now!

Hope you're all making the most of the end of summer

Tybee Island and Savannah

Last week I went to Savannah in Georgia to look at it's history. It was where a scene from forest gump was filmed on the bench. But the thing that really interested me was the architecture and layout of the place as it is unlike anything I have seen. The area looks pretty run down and the buildings on the river look like those we had before the world war! But it's so intriguing to look at and think that those had been there a long time. I also loved that the roads were cobblestone as it adds to the 'ancient' feel of the place.

Then we headed up to our main destination; Tybee Island. This was where The Last Song was filmed with Miley Cyrus. I loved both book and film so it was lovely to be able to walk along the beaches at twilight as it felt almost surreal. The people and set up is just so beautiful and really gives the impression of it being an island. It's all fun and games there; by day you can run in the sun, by night you can live it up. What I mean to say is that it's a really relaxing place to be.

July Favourites

Hello girlies!! Hope you're all enjoying summer, I'm loving it here it Florida (more pics to follow). July has been the first month this year for me without having any exams. I've been buying lots of things to treat myself and in preparation for college. Baby lips are so old now but aren't sold in the UK so I had to pick them up since they're so raved about. I love them both the first gives a good pink tint and the second is to stop my lips getting burnt (not a good look, trust me).

I already have the St Ives apricot scrub at home but I needed something for while I'm here and so far I find this one is much better. Unlike the apricot one the scrub is gentle yet absorbs dirt very well. I suggest using it with a good moisturiser as it may make your skin dry out. It seems to be doing the job and I like that it's green tea as that stuff is good for you! ;)

Forget lucky charms these things are gorg, I may have eaten too many boxes however so this month I'll be back to museli and special K but these taste real nice as the chocolate isn't overpowering. If you like cocoa pops I'm sure you'de love these.

Lastly from Bath and Body Works are these two shower gels in the scents Twilight woods and Rio Rumberry. I wouldn't describe them as summer scents but they are to die for and I plan on getting more to take back with me to England. If your in America I suggest you check these out, I'd love Twilight woods as a perfume as it's musky yet sweet at the same time....tempted to get it.

What has been your July favs??

Florida #1

I reached my second home on Monday evening, been settling back in since. My flight was smooth but my suitcase got lost, luckily it was delivered the next day. So far I've done loads of shopping so expect haul pics soon. Also been in the pool a few days but it's only started warming up today. Eating loads of good unhealthy american food and chilling out. Excited to spend the next 5 weeks here!

My on-flight bag

Not long now till my departure on Monday so I thought I'd show you my airplane bag. I'm no expert but so long as you have your passport I think your usually good to go. I have been on a plane quite a few times however so it might be helpful to others to see what I take. The top photo is of the rucksack I'm taking, it's new and sturdy. I'd suggest taking a backpack as you can be hands free, your less likely to misplace it, and your shoulders/back will be more at ease. In addition it is spacious so if you like to take your own blanket or neck pillow it is perfect for you.

The second picture is of my front pocket which has my little bag of essentials such as hand sanitiser, lipbalm, and other 'emergency' products. The little elephant pouch holds my headphones as I don't wish to pay £4 on the plane so hopefully mine will fit the socket, as I love to watch movies and play games if possible. I have a clear plastic bag for all my liquids before entering security which helps save time and stress at the airport. Also I have this Catch Kidston travel kit which I've had for a while but not been able to put to use. It has creams and body wash, essential if you hate dry hands like me. And of course I have my passport, easily reachable!

In the main section of my bag I'm keeping my dollars and also some spare change to spend at the airport on sweets/magazines. My phone and charger so that I can play games to pass the time. A pen for any forms that need to be signed out (many when travelling to America). My sleep socks and eye mask even though they provide me with one but I'm using my own to be extra comfy. My glasses case as I won't be wearing contacts and a comb to detangle my hair during/after the flight. Lastly I have a magazine I haven't gotten around to reading yet, a notebook, and a book, all will make the flight more enjoyable.

I hope this post gave you some inspiration and if you want share your tips down below!

Birdy

Last night I met Birdy for the first time at her secret London concert. I really wanted to see her this year as I missed her last year and I love listening to her current album. I hardly ever get to go to concerts but I was lucky enough to win tickets to hear songs off her new album. Her voice has so much soul and emotion, that I know her talent is going to take her far. For the meet and greet I told her how beautiful her voice is and that she's an inspiration to people our age. I already want to see her again and I'm so excited for her new album release on September the 23rd.

Packing for Florida

Today I thought I'd give you a sneak peek into my suitcase. It's not fully packed but this is basically what I'm taking. I love watching packing videos on youtube at the moment so I thought ya'll might like to take a look at mien. First of all I'm going to Florida for 5 weeks yet I'm bringing hardly any clothes as I intend on buying loads when I'm out there. I'm only bringing one dress and no skirts!!! As for tops you can probably see a few of the fabric prints as well as my bathing suit which are colourful and vibrant. I'm bringing two pairs of shorts, possibly a pair of dungarees, and I'll be wearing my workout bottoms to the airport. For shoes I've got new sandals, flip flops, toms, and converse.

I'm keeping my jewelry in my radley cloth bag except my earrings which are going in a mini food container. I'm bringing 6 pairs of sunglasses which sounds slightly crazy but of course I'll be wearing them all the time and I just couldn't choose, so I'm placing them in a small carrier bag. My hair stuff is going into the hello kitty makeup bag (isn't the lilac bow so cute!). And I'm bringing two books which aren't the classic summer reads but I'm going to read these for college and myself as I've been meaning to read more classics for a while now. I will also be bringing another book in my carry-on bag but I'll save that for another post.

Hope you liked this sneak peek, I love to be organised so I also use packing lists online like this one. Hope you all enjoy your summer whether your staying home or going away.

Canon EOS 1100D

In celebration of my new camera I decided to take it for a test run around my garden. My cats are loving this new burst of heat and I managed to pick some strawberries from my garden. I tested a few basic features but didn't want to press too many buttons for now in case I mess it up. The two of me were taken on timer which is why I look so strange as I was waiting for it to go off! I'm not going to take my camera to Florida with with as I haven't got a case and I don't want to risk it getting damaged/lost. However I will be taking my phone so make sure to follow me on instagram.

Hope you are all enjoying the sun xxx

My prom

The past year I have spent a fair bit of my time planning prom! As in the venue, decorations, music etc...Luckily it was a pretty good turnout and everyone seemed to have a great time! :) The venue was a restaurant in a castle and decorations were beautiful and Hollywood themed. We had toffee popcorn and sweets to accompany our 3 course meal. Everyone received an award and a few other extra gifts were given out before the music started to end the night.

So it's officially the end of secondary school for me and I've already been to see my college and met new people. In addition I'm going to fly to Florida in 2 weeks!!! I go there every 1-2 years as my dad lives there, so it's my second home but I'm sure I can admit to it feeling a bit like a vacation. If you have seen my past posts of my charity shopping you would know I love me some thrifting so I'm currently volunteering at my local charity shop until I leave.

Results day is on the 22nd of August but I won't be collecting them myself as I'll still be away (5 weeks long) so someone will be collecting them for me on my behalf. However I plan on doing posts over summer while I'm there so ya'll can see some pretty pictures. Also I'll be doing some hauls as I've got lots of school stuff to get.

Lastly I just received my first DSLR camera!! It's a Canon 1100D, I got it for my photography course at college but really I've wanted it since christmas and forever basically so I'm so pumped I finally have my hands on one.

What's your summer plans?
